Australian Safety & Compensation Council

The Australian Safety and Compensation Council is a federal agency established relatively recently to:

  • develop national occupational health and safety (OHS) and workers' compensation policy
  • encourage policy discussion and research
  • promote consistency in legislation developed by states and territories

In 2008, a National OH&S Review is being conducted for the purposes of exploring the optimal structure and content of a model OHS Act that is capable of being adopted in all jurisdictions
