Peter Maguire is a true HR Generalist, offering over 30 years of experience in Human Resources Management across manufacturing, distribution, professional and community service organisations in the private and public sectors.

Prior to founding Ridgeline HR in 2000, Peter variously served as:

  • A Senior Consultant for Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VECCI)
  • An Industry Consultant for the Victorian Accident Rehabilitation Council
  • Manager of a rehabilitation unit and
  • HR Manager in explosives, textiles, furniture and health and community services organisations.

He has represented industry on various industrial relations peak councils and as:

  • Chairman of the Industrial Committee of the Carpet Institute of Australia
  • Nominee to the Working Party on Workplace Reform in the Processed Food Industry
  • Delegate to the Senate Enquiry into Outworkers in the Clothing Industry
  • Member of the Advisory Board to the Australian Centre for Best Practice
  • Advocate for the processed foods, TCF and agricultural sectors in industrial relations proceedings and award matters.

Peter was also a lead trainer in VECCI's Enterprise Bargaining and HRM Training Programs, has lectured on WorkCover Claims Management at Post-Graduate level and, in 1993, wrote a Best Practice Guide to Occupational Injury Management which was endorsed by industry and the Victorian WorkCover Authority.

In 1996, he achieved accreditation as an Advisor and Assessor for the Investors in People program, an international "Best Practice" standard in Human Resources Management.
